  • APOP_Stacked_Brown_150pxU.S. pet obesity rates remained relatively unchanged in 2018, with 59.5% of cats and 55.8% of dogs classified as overweight or obese, according to the Association for Pet Obesity Prevention (APOP). During the 11th annual survey, APOP also found pet owners and veterinary professionals were confused by conflicting pet nutritional advice and continue to struggle to help pets achieve safe and ideal weights.

Did you consider that a 90 pound female Labrador retriever is equal to a 186 pound 5’ 4” female or 217 pound 5’ 9” male or a fluffy feline that weighs 15 pounds (DSH) is equal to a 218 pound 5’ 4” female or 254 pound 5’ 9” male?
Use these weight equivalent charts to determine how much your pet weighs compared to an average adult human male or female. Click on breed/gender to view the charts.

October is National Service Dog Month

 
Could we please have “likes” for all the service images (4)dogs out there!  They come in different shapes, sizes and breeds.  They do jobs we  humans can not do.  To those who use them the dogs are hero’s.  Stop at the Winnebago Pet Expo on Saturday October 5th, 10am – 5pm to see the K-9 Comfort Dogs,  OccuPaws Guide Dog Association, as well as how your dog can be a service dog ( therapy).
