Today is National Pet Memorial Day. I know we all have lost special pet friends, or know of

BLUE GREEN ALGAE ALERT

blue green algae 2 blue green algae 3 OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA DNR Staff are reporting that Little Lake Butte des Morts has a pretty strong BGA bloom occurring. Lake Winnebago also has some spots with high concentrations of BGA, particularly along the north shore. Areas that have a surface scum are most likely to produce IBGA exposure symptoms.
 
 
If you think you are experiencing symptoms related to exposure to blue-green algae (e.g., stomach cramps, diarrhea, vomiting, headache, fever, muscle weakness, difficulty breathing), contact your doctor or the Poison Information Hotline (800-222-1222) right away.
If your pet displays symptoms such as seizures, vomiting, or diarrhea after contact with surface water, contact your veterinarian right away.
