OAHS Shelter Trek
Today we were at the Oshkosh Area Human Society’s (OAHS) Shelter Trek. The rain didn’t deter us! Fun was had by all who attended and it was a great way to help OAHS raise money!
Thank you Oshkosh Area Humane Society for having us!
BLUE GREEN ALGAE ALERT
DNR Staff are reporting that Little Lake Butte des Morts has a pretty strong BGA bloom occurring. Lake Winnebago also has some spots with high concentrations of BGA, particularly along the north shore. Areas that have a surface scum are most likely to produce IBGA exposure symptoms.
If you think you are experiencing symptoms related to exposure to blue-green algae (e.g., stomach cramps, diarrhea, vomiting, headache, fever, muscle weakness, difficulty breathing), contact your doctor or the Poison Information Hotline (800-222-1222) right away.
If your pet displays symptoms such as seizures, vomiting, or diarrhea after contact with surface water, contact your veterinarian right away.
Report a Case with potential health effects caused by blue-green algae, visit the Department of Health Services [exit DNR]. or contact the Bureau of Environmental and Occupational Health at 608-266-1120.
Right Way / Wrong Way
REMINDER, please make sure to follow the road inside Winnebago County Community Park. There have been several complaints about dog park users driving the wrong way. The police will be called and you can be sighted for driving the wrong way.
We do realize the dog park is “right there” when coming into the park from County Rd Y. Most of the time no one is coming. It is still illegal. This has been a much more frequent occurrence. We are now getting complaints from the Winnebago County Parks Board.
Oshkosh Police Department has jurisdiction.
